2024 Mercedes-Benz E Class Review

At Autocar India,  ready to go to any corner of the world to bring us the story first. Previously they have traveled to Brazil, Indonesia, Egypt, and half a dozen other countries all for the purpose of getting our hands on the steering wheel first. This time, they have come to an even more difficult- to access place: China, and the car that has brought us here is the new long wheelbase Mercedes E Class. Based on the new W214 E – Class the long-wheelbase E- Class or V214 is a completely different car. It is significantly longer and heavier, with the focus now primarily on the rear seat. This long-wheelbase car is so different that it could easily be a separate model on its own.

First, the important details. The new E-Class has more space between the front and rear axles- 15mm more than the long wheelbase E- E-Class currently on sale in India. The new V214’s wheelbase of 3,094mm is also 133mm longer than the standard- wheelbase E-Class or W214. Additionally, with a wheelbase-to-length ratio of 60.76 percent and rear seats that recline further than before, this new long-wheelbase E-Class places even greater emphasis on comfort. The new E-Class sporty roofline and rebounded rear are perhaps the most attractive parts of the car. Although Mercedes hasn’t specified how much stiffer the new E-Class body shell is, stricter crash test regulations in China likely indicate a stiffer chassis. However, the boot space is expected to be only adequate. While the new car offers 540 liters of boot space, a significant portion of that in India will be taken up by the space-saver spare and jack. The new E-Class now comes with four-zone climate control and the rear blower operates in a relatively quieter manner.
