Mahindra launched the XUV 3XO in India in April this year. Five months after its debut, the carmaker has announced the first price hike of its updated sub-four metre SUV. The price of the Mahindra XUV 3XO has been increased immediately in India. As a result of this move, the SUV’s price has gone up by up to ₹30,000. Interesting, this price hike comes at a time when many other automakers are offering discounts on their passenger vehicles. The offer’s are being provided to boost sales during the festive season after witnessing a drop in demand. On the other hand, Mahindra has been consistently posting sales growth with its range of SUVs. Customers purchasing the MX2 Pro 1.5 diesel MT, MX3 1.5 diesel MT, MX3 1.5 diesel AMT. They will now have to pay an additional ₹10,000 on top of the outgoing prices. The prices of all variants remain unchanged. The sub- 4m SUV competes with the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet and Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Mahindra’s pricing strategy is crucial for staying competitive and avoiding a decline. The XUV 3XO is available in three engine options, including a 1.2- litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 110 bhp and 200 Nm of torque. There is a TGDi turbo-petrol engine that produces 129 bhp and 230 Nm of torque. Both petrol engines can be paired with a 6- speed manual or a 6 -speed automatic transmission. The price of the XUV 3XO now ranges from ₹7.79 lakh for the entry-level MX1 1.2 petrol MT variant to ₹15.49 lakh for the top end AX7L 1.2 petrol AT variant. Additionally customers can choose the XUV 3XO from 8 colour options and 9 variants.
