The arrival of coupe SUVs has significantly increased competition in the mid-size SUV segment, and as a result, Hyundai is preparing to launch a new updated version of its popular Creta. Some official documents have revealed that the company is set to launch a special edition of the Creta, which may soon hit the Indian market. According to the documents, this model may be introduced as the Creta SE, meaning Special Edition. It will be available in two variants- S(O) and SX(O). Although not much information is available yet, it is believed that this special edition will feature some minor changes in the exterior and interior. The SE variant of the Hyundai Creta will retain the existing engine options, which include a 1.5 liter naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 113bhp of power and 144 Nm of peak torque. The second option is a 1.5-litre diesel engine that produces 114 bhp of power and 250 Nm of torque. The transmission options will include a CVT for petrol, a torque converter for diesel, and a 6-speed manual for both engines. The Hyundai Creta SE may indicate a special variant or sports edition. There is less clarity on what we can expect from this upcoming edition of India’s best best-selling compact SUV. Hyundai usually teases its upcoming editions, but there have been no teasers for the Creta SE so far. It may feature a new interior theme, exterior decals, a dash camera, and possibly some highlight elements. The powertrain will remain the same and will be carried forward in the same tuned condition. If we look at the compact SUV sales chart of August 2024, the Hyundai Creta has secured the top position by selling 16,762 units, this is an impressive achievement.
