Earlier this month, Tata launched the new Nexon CNG at a starting price of ₹8.99 lakh, it is available in multiple variants. And available only with a three-pedal powertrain setup. The Tata Nexon has always been known as a versatile SUV in this segment, featuring a variety of powertrain options. There are petrol, diesel and even an electric version available. In standard petrol configuration, this engine with this gear box offers a claimed mileage of 17.44 km/I. Officially, Tata has not revealed a mileage figure but we subjected the car to a real -world mileage test and obtained 11.65km/kg in the city and 17.5km/kg on the highway, giving us a combined average of 13 km/kg. The Nexon is no compromise SUV when it comes to features. It comes with increasingly common features like a panoramic sunroof and cooled front seats, an air purifier, JBL’s sound system, and a wireless charging pad placed on the center console. The extensive list of safety features, including six airbags, a 360- degree camera with a blind spot monitor, a tire pressure monitor, and front parking sensors, further strengthens the overall package. The top-spec fearless variant comes with a fully black interior theme and the now familiar 10.25 inch touchscreen infotainment system. The signature Tata family face, featuring connected LED DRLs, and tail lamps, adds a modern touch. The overall proportions of the SUV strike a balance between compactness and practicality. However, it is important to note that the Nexon CNG retains some of the shortcomings of the regular Nexon. Sources in Tata have indicated that the automaker is considering an AMT option for the CNG mill, but nothing is official right now.
