Kia India is all set to reveal its portfolio in India today with the launch of two new models. The Korean automobile giant will introduce the new generation Carnival MPV, which first debuted in India in 2020. The carmaker will also launch its largest and most expensive electric car, the EV9. This three-row electric SUV was first showcased in India in its concept form during the Auto Expo held last year. Both the new Kia Carnival and Kia EV9 are key parts of the Kia 2.0 strategy, which represents the next phase of growth for the South Korean automaker in India. Both the Carnival and EV9 adopt this design language. Kia launched its 2.0 strategy with the new Seltos SUV in India last year. The Kia Carnival has been launched at ₹63.90 lakh, featuring numerous updates in design and features. Kia has launched the EV9 electric SUV at ₹1.29 crore, promising a range of up to 561 kilometers on a single charge. The Kia EV9 features a distinctive boxy silhouette that exudes confidence and strength. Its exterior features include sleek LED headlamps and eye-catching Star Map LED accents. The new Kia Carnival closely follows the design of the KA4 concept. It features a wide radiator grille with chrome trims and L-shaped LED daytime running lights that complement the vertically shaped LED headlamps. The new Kia Carnival comes loaded with several standard safety features and equipment, which consists of eight airbags, a level 2 ADAS suite, and a 360-degree surround view camera. The Kia EV9 is built on the Electric Global Modular Platform which will support future Hyundai electric cars in India. This electric car boasts features such as an 18-way power driver seat with a memory function. The EV9 and the Carnival cars will arrive in the country via the CBU route, a move expected to happen in mid-2025.
