On Friday, at the company’s quarterly result press conference, Rajesh Jejurkar, Executive Director of Mahindra Group’s Auto and Farm Sectors said, “We have a very exciting portfolio and it is on track. Singapore -based Equity Fund Temasake recently announced an investment of Rs 1,200 crore for a 1.49 percent to 2.97 percent stake in Mahindra Electric Automobile Limited.
Mahindra’s Englo Skateboard Platform
All the upcoming EVS will be built on Mahindra’s Inglo Skateboard platform. The platform will use both blades and prismatic cell structures with battery capacity from 60–80kwh. The architecture will be compatible with fast charging up to 175kw, which the company claims that it can charge up to 80 percent in only 30 minutes. Vehicles manufactured on this platform can be done with either single-motor or double-motor configuration, which allows for 2WD and 4WD models of the same car. Interestingly, VW can also use components to save the platform cost, as the two brands reached an agreement for “evaluation of the scope of cooperation”.
