Kia India has teased the Clavis SUV as its new offering for the domestic market. The company will place the Kia Clavis between its existing SUVs, the Seltos and Sonet, in its SUV portfolio. The popular Korean car manufacturer is ready to introduce this affordable SUV under its Kia 2.0 strategy. The company stated that the Clavis, representing a new breed of SUVs, will take design inspiration from its larger siblings, the Kia EV9 and Carnival Limousine. Talking about the looks, it will feature L- shaped LED tail lamps and vertical LED daytime running lights, along with functional roof rails. The SUV will have an excellent front design with a boxy tail section. The Kia Clavis may also be known as the ‘Sieros’ in the Indian market and will be offered in the sub-four-meter category. The company SUV is expected to feature a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, sunroof, ventilated front seats, automatic climate control, ambient lighting, connected car features, 6 airbags, ADAS technology, and a 360- degree camera system, along with several safety features. It is expected that the Kia Clavis will be offered with a 1.0- litre turbo petrol engine and a 1.5 litre diesel engine. Additionally, the Kia Clavis, also expected to be available in an EV avatar. The ICE engine variant is expected to come with a 6- speed IMT and a 7- speed dual clutch automatic transmission. Kia India’s MD and CEO, Gwanggu Lee, said about the upcoming models- ‘This SUV has been locally designed, inspired by the unrealistic needs of Indian customers. It features a unique, progressive SUV design language that no longer follows traditional SUV design.
